Sunshine's vision

This will be the first blog post for Sunshine. And let me be really clear from the start: no AI will be used to create these posts, as they will be 100% handwritten by humans. You may have encountered AI-generated blog posts before, and they suck, don’t they? By writing without AI, we ensure our message is delivered in its most traditional form: from human to human. We want to provide as much value as we can to our readers and communicate clearly. After all, Sunshine is all about communication, so let’s keep it free of barriers.

And with no further ado, let’s talk about Sunshine’s vision!

Sunshine was born while working remotely, after sending countless drone-like messages to coworkers and thinking: “Where did the human touch go?”. If you’ve ever felt in a tight corner while working remotely, looking at a computer screen all day and talking to no one, Sunshine will appeal to you. We created Sunshine to do one thing: put the communication back into remote work. No more isolation, no more deafening silence.

We dreamt of countless remote companies with employees working and chatting at the same time, typing on their keyboards and talking about the nice weather coming back, sending an email while debating about the wars overseas. This vision drove the development of our v1. We built it for us and for whoever thinks remote work can match synchronous, old-fashioned communication.

Sunshine is a beacon: as its name suggests, it shines upon its users. Internally, we do not use the term “virtual office”, we prefer “remote office” or even “world”. A world is a space where you can meet and greet people, have one-on-ones with your boss, debate with your team, or even attend a conference with 100 attendees. Whether it is private to your company or public for the world to see, a world is built to do one thing: host communications. In our v1, we shipped only the bare minimum: localized meetings when approaching a colleague, group meeting zones for that meeting room feeling, and “Deep focus” zones, where no communication is allowed, because yes, to communicate without boundaries, you sometimes need time to yourself.

Our vision for the product extends way past remote companies. Yes, we will target remote teams first, as we envision fighting for their right to speak up every day, combating remote-work isolation, and giving a voice to chatty coworkers. Then we intend to conquer the remote events space with a solution of unprecedented quality. Picture more than 250 people in the same space, listening to a speaker on stage, then moving into breakout rooms in groups of 5 to talk shop with like-minded peers. Possible? Yes. Envisioned? Yes.

So here we are at the crossroads, having a vision in one hand and a product in the other. Let’s join them and rejoice, as the road ahead might be perilous. Starting a startup is not easy, so let’s be gritty. Our team has the will and experience necessary to get to the finish line. We build it for like-minded peers and us. Getting the word out there is our mission now. There is a better way to communicate while working remotely. It’s Sunshine. Try it today.

PS: Come and say hi in our world during European working hours!
